1.Cut a square piece of chicken wire. Use wire-cutters. Cut into the same mesh row. 
2.Make hooks on one side of the chicken wireusing flat-nosed pliers. 
3.Roll the chicken wire to form a tube. Use your fingers and flat-nosed pliers. 
4.Cut a circular piece of chicken wire for the base. Allow a 2 cm overlap. To attach the base to the tube, use your fingers and flat-nosed pliers. 
5.Shape the vase as you wish. If you want a slight curve at the top, squeeze the chicken net in the same mesh row. 
6.Tips for shaping a bottleneck and handle: Bottleneck: Using wire-cutters, cut into about every 3rd mesh row. Cut down to the point at which you want your bottleneck to start. 
7.Working from left to right, fold in the sides. Use flat-nosed pliers and your fingers to shape hooks and squeeze them into place. 
8.Adjust the shape of your vase. 
9.Cut a square piece of chicken wire for the body of the vase and shape it into a tube (follow steps 3 and 4). Attach your bottleneck to the body. 
10.Handle: Cut a new piece of chicken wire to form a handle. Fold the wire mesh ends to the inside. Use the wire mesh ends to hook the handle to the vase. 
11.Cover the vase with masking tape. If necessary, use 2 layers of tape to cover the chicken wire completely. At the top (opening) and base, apply tape to a point about 4 cm down on the inside. 
12.Cut a small notch into the masking tape to ensure that the tape is firmly attached. 
13.Cut small pieces of fabric of different sizes. Now glue these to your vase. Use protective plastic sheeting and wear gloves. If you wish, find something to pour the glue into. Brush the glue onto both sides of the fabric using a foam brush. 
14.Attach the fabric pieces to the vase one by one. Fold the fabric over at the top to ensure that the opening is also covered with fabric. Leave to dry. Hint: If you wish to use your vase as a lamp base, make a small hole for the cord.
