Batik Idea No. 3:
Here you pleat your project, folding it like an origami paper chain. Secure with rubber bands. Then you immerse your project in a bowl of mixed batik dye and leave to soak. When you cut off the elastic bands, a unique pattern appears.
4 facts about batik:
- The project you wish to dye must be freshly laundered (and still wet)
- Mix the batik dye with water (follow the instructions)
- Leave your project to soak for one hour in the dye bath/with the batik dye before rinsing
- Finally, use fixative to fix the batik dye
