Getting started with DIY

Polystyrene is a very light and stable material that is easy to work with. Use the figure as your canvas and paint directly on it. Or cover it with fabric or paper/decoupage to create the surface and pattern you like. Perhaps let a single ribbon create graphic patterns across the surface. 

You can also go all in on decoration with all sorts of other lovely craft items like feathers, sequins, ribbons, or pine. Glue directly onto the figure, or secure everything with small pins.
