Download free PDF Step by step guide 1.Sew batting to the wrong side of the fabric for ears/scales. Stitch (seam allowance 0.5 cm).2.Place fabric pieces right sides together. Stitch along all the edges (seam allowance 1 cm).3.Trim the tips off the crocodile scales and pig ears. If necessary, cut small notches into the seam allowance on the rounded edge of the teddy bear and rabbit ears. Turn to the right side. Press seams.4.NB: Shift the seams of the rabbit ears 1.5 cm to one side and press. This ensures that you can see some of Fabric 1 with Fabric 2.5.Place the ears on the right side of the cushion cover. Place teddy bear or pig ears with 18 cm distance between them. Place rabbit or superhero ears on the same long side 1 cm from the cushion edge. Place the first crocodile scale 1 cm from the edge. Place a row of scales in close succession. Adjust to ensure that the last scale is 1cm from the opposite edge.6.Sew ears/scales to the cushion cover (seam allowance 0.5 cm).7.Lay the cushion cover pieces right sides together. Ensure that the ears or scales are between the two pieces of fabric. Stitch all around the cushion cover (seam allowance 1 cm). Leave a gap for turning. Turn the cushion cover to the right side. Press and insert the cushion into the cover.8.Close the turning gap. Hand sew with blind stitching.9.NB: If you wish, you can make a nose for the teddy bear/pig: Sew a button at the centre of the cushion.
